iLon tabletop "Open System" Development and Demonstration Layout

Based on Echelon iLon Starter kit - Laptop Edition
(Special Note: Total construction time approx. 8-10 hours)
Project Goal:
To build a transportable system that allows development and demonstrations via panel mounted analog/digital devices with local and remote LAN and Internet connectivity. Transportable system to require two connections at setup location (120v power and LAN connection).

Chronology:
Order placed online via Internet from http://www.echelon.com on Thursday, June 29, 2000.
Friday, June 30, 2000, LonWorks laptop starter kit arrived, setup temporarily on kitchen table.
Wednesday, July 5, 2000, iLon server arrives, add to kitchen tabletop setup.
Friday, July 7, 2000, develop 24"x36" sketch for transportable tabletop simulator using parts included in "starter kit" and other spare components.
Saturday, July 8, 2000, build tabletop unit, see photos below:
1. Overlay layout on laminated particle board precut to 24"x36"
2. Drill pilot holes directly through drawing, tape measure and marking not required.
3. Drill 3/4" holes for wire routing to rear of panel.
4. Final drill photo.
5. Mount LonPoint modules on rail.

Special Note:
iLon laptop starter kit does not include several devices mounted on panel board (i.e. boiler simulator, electrical boxes with SSR's, I/R transducer, Ethernet hub, power strips, wiring, table stand, laptop computer, etc.)
