2003 Morris County Robotics Challenge

Students from Grades 5 to 8

The 2nd annual robotic competition event was held on Thursday, May 8, 2003 at 3:45PM to 6:10PM at Morris Hills Regional High School.

Congratulations to all of the teams that competed and especially to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel with a perfect score of 396 points!

An autonomous robot pulling 20 pounds...

Note: This robot is pulling approximately 32x it's weight... next year we'll try to match the power of an ant... at 50x

A few more photos from last year's event : 1) team/scoring sign, 2) before the event, 3) teams starting to arrive,  4) pulling 9 pounds, 5) robot trailer disintegrating under load just after making a full 9 pound pull, 6) following the line, 7) robot closeup

Special Note: It looks like these "pint size" hand-held robots can pull weight in excess of 20-30+ pounds!
